The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

The Stewards enquired from John James Feane, trainer, as to why he failed to fit an eyeshield to his charge Twist Of Magic having declared them under Rule 194 (d). The trainer apologised for any inconvenience caused and accepted that he had failed in his responsibility but stated that he had left a groom in charge of bringing the horses and respective equipment to the races today while he was away attending the bloodstock sales. He added that he was unable to acquire an eyeshield from any colleague and furthermore there was none in stock at a local tack shop. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. Twist Of Magic was withdrawn in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (e).

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Istan (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed third and Mack Attack (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed fifth, where it appeared that Istan (GB) was left short of room along the running rail and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference was accidental in nature and took no further action.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Istan (GB) trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with bad interference about one and a half furlongs from the finish.
